The Windsor Sports and Community Park draft concept plan has been released for community feedback.

The Brisbane City Council is asking the local community to “have your say” on the proposed Windsor Sports and Community Park, to be located between Northey and Cullen Streets in Windsor, with the release of the draft concept plan.

The draft concept plan is the Council’s response to the community feedback gathered from the early consultation held in late 2018. The proposal includes a bitumen car parking, an informal sports lawn, and a fenced playground.

Councillor Andrew Wines added that the new park will have a skateable furniture, as well as electrical connections for holding of small events such as movies in the park.

Construction of the sports and community park, which will form part of the Enoggera Creek Sport and Recreation Precinct Plan, is expected to commence in 2020.

About the Enoggera Creek Sport and Recreation Precinct Plan
The Enoggera Creek Sport and Recreation Precinct Plan aims to guide future investment, development, and management of the precinct.

The Precinct covers Windsor, Wilston, and Newmarket areas within the borders of Enoggera Creek, Lutwyche Road, Newmarket Road, and Enoggera Road.

Among the benefits that the proposed project is expected to deliver includes better traffic management, pedestrian-friendly environment with safe linkages throughout the precinct, and new places for visitors to relax and enjoy whilst keeping the natural habitat protected.

The Council is inviting members of the community to attend and have their say on the Windsor Sports and Community Park concept plan and the Enoggera Creek Sport and Recreation Precinct Plan at any of the information kiosks that will be held on the following dates, times, and locations.
